NOT By Christmas

Okay, so we will NOT have a new little one by Christmas. It is just the way it is. But, that just means it is very likely there will be a new addition to the family in 2008.

Now, on to other things -- I think we've settled on CaCaLo's Alphabet Soup for a general theme for the baby's room. We've added that stuff to the Amazon registry, and the pics here are a part of that. I guess now we should look at repainting once the room is cleaned out. (That's a project for next week!)

Still going . . .

Sometimes we feel like the Energizer bunny -- going and going and going.
Only, we're waiting and waiting and waiting.
On the one hand, we have so much to do before we're really ready. On the other hand, it's been forever. Besides, is anyone ever really ready?

The Cutest, Coolest, Most Challenging Thing Ever

The Cutest Thing Ever
Baby baptisms or christenings -- they are just way too adorable for words. The gowns, the glowing grandparents, the stressed parents trying to glow, the whole thing is just too sweet to miss.

The Coolest Thing Ever
A shameless plug for our earlier find in this post.
Seriously cool. Seriously useful. Seriously on our Christmas list.
Along with the updated "not available on Amazon" list
(The Amazon link is here)

The Most Challenging Thing Ever (so far)
Waiting, waiting, waiting -- without a way to plan for anything.
Yeah, I know, that's nothing compared to being a parent for the rest of your life. However, it's pretty much a PITA for those of us in the "waiting place."

Our Next Challenge

So, the crib needs to have a place to go. The guest room, or nursery-to-be, is in need of quite an excavation. In fact, if we don't do something my brother won't have anywhere to sleep next week!
Anyone got a bulldozer? No really, there's a bunch of stuff to deal with in there, and no time to do it.

Crib Accomplished

Yay, the crib is now here, and maybe it will get assembled before the baby arrives. :)

The Parental Morass

So, we are weird. We want to use cloth diapers, mash the baby's food, and about 20 other things my mama did. But, problem is, we don't have the option of one parent staying home and handling all 22 of those things, in triplicate, like she did. Guess we'll figure it out eventually.

It is hard to plan for a child that may arrive on a week's notice or 12. But, we're getting there.
